Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Laboratory Assistant - Histology - Per Diem to support day-to-day lab operations, including specimen processing, inventory management, instrument maintenance, and communication with providers and other labs.

Requirements include a High School degree with 12 biology/chemistry credits, basic computer skills (Excel/Word), and strong communication. Per diem position with a Monday–Friday schedule; experience in a lab is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Degree with 12 college credits in biology or chemistry.
• Laboratory experience handling blood and body fluids.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist lab staff with day-to-day operation, providing clinical, clerical and inventory support.
• Assist Pathology in handling bodies and morgue-related duties; record keeping as required.
• Maintain supplies and inventory; notify supervisor when reordering needed.
