Job summary

CalvertHealth in Maryland is seeking a Health Information Management professional to assist the Operations Manager in planning, organizing and directing medical record services. You will help ensure the integrity, completeness and legibility of scanned patient health information and act as the HIM subject matter expert across departments.

The role requires an Associate Degree in HIM, RHIT certification within one year, and at least three years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HIM is required.
• RHIT certification must be obtained within 1 year of job assignment.
• Proficiency with computer and data management tools including Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Familiarity with HIM desktop applications (MPI, Incomplete ROI, Analyst, Scanning, Transcriptionist) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager in planning, organizing and directing medical record services within the department.
• Perform quality control to ensure integrity, completeness and legibility of scanned patient health information.
• Validate paper records to scanned images to ensure a complete legible record; serves as HIM subject matter expert to all staff and liaises with other departments.
