Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management is required.
• RHIT certification or pursuing within one year of employment is required.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office; experience with electronic health records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize medical record documentation for electronic sorting, scanning, and indexing.
• Analyze processes and write workflows to improve HIM operations.
• Select appropriate client episodes for chart placement during scanning.
• Forward required documentation to outside providers via ROI processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in handling medical records and equipment.
• Provide daily statistics on documents filed and assist in audits.
