Job summary

The University of Utah's Department of Pediatrics seeks a Healthcare Information Management (HIM) Supervisor to oversee daily HIM operations, including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating staff, and managing EPIC InBasket activity in a busy ambulatory setting.

Based in pediatric ambulatory clinics across multiple sites, you will supervise workflows, monitor productivity and turnaround times, prepare monthly reports, and collaborate with HR to address employee concerns.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising HIM staff and coordinating daily operations.
• Experience with EPIC EMR systems for HIM workflows and InBasket management.
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalency) with related work experience; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily HIM operations, hire/train staff, assign work queues.
• Monitor EPIC In Basket activity and HIM processing turnaround times.
• Prepare monthly HIM performance reports and metrics.
• Collaborate with departments and committees; address escalated HIM issues.
• Ensure compliance with policies and department goals.
