Qualifications

• HIM knowledge and regulatory principles are required.
• Experience with paper records and EMR is expected.
• Ability to interpret HIM requirements and apply standards.
• Strong organizational and people skills with leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HIM software tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations and workflow of assigned HIM units.
• Provide day-to-day oversight and work direction.
• Coordinate staffing schedules and time off for coverage.
• Manage daily workload and staff functions.
• Collaborate with leadership on process and quality improvements.
• Monitor productivity, coach staff, and apply disciplinary actions as needed.
• Coordinate process improvement initiatives with HIM leaders.
• Update staff on policy changes and standard work documentation.
• Develop, monitor, and report HIM improvement activities and metrics.
• Oversee staffing and workflow to meet service quality targets.
• Lead Epic-related functions and provide SME guidance.
• Support staff training and professional development.
• Coordinate orientation for new employees and recruitment support.
• Conduct regular 1:1s and annual performance reviews.
