Job summary

Qualifications

• No formal training or experience minimum for this classification.
• Must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction, repair, and preservation of roads and bridges on the state highway system.
• Operate 5-yard standard dump truck and flatbed truck for hauling materials and debris.
• Operate small equipment such as brush chipper, rollers, broom sweepers, and pipe washers.
• Flag traffic during road repairs to protect workers and the public.
• Perform duties with manual labor: clearing rights-of-way, signs, drainage, pothole patching, and paving Driveways.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and assist in emergency or inclement weather operations.
