Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Charleston Maintenance Office is seeking qualified individuals for Medium Equipment Operator roles. Work Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with overtime during weather events.

CDL training opportunities are provided and a strong benefits package is offered. Responsibilities include operating medium equipment, managing traffic control in work zones, and performing diverse maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Six months of related work experience.
• Must hold a valid driver's license; CDL required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate medium equipment on the Hot Crew and assist with maintenance tasks.
• Perform traffic control for work zones, including flagging for safety.
• Assist in repairs, paving, drainage, and other routine tasks.
• Be on call during inclement weather and emergencies.
