State of South Carolina is seeking qualified workers for highway and bridge maintenance and construction. The role involves operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders, plus tandem dump trucks for material transport.

You will perform bridge-related tasks, manage traffic control, and assist during severe weather conditions. Expect to handle a range of duties from using hand tools for repairs to coordinating safety devices at work zones.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to perform skilled manual labor on roads and bridges.
• Requires valid CDL within six months of placement.

Responsabilités

• Operate excavator, backhoe, dozer, front end loader, lowboy tractor and motor grader for highway/bridge work.
• Operate tandem dump trucks to haul material and transport equipment.
• Operate pile driver, skid steer, and large rollers in construction/repair.
• Use small and power tools for bridge work including demolition, formwork, repairs and painting.
• Signal crane operator during bridge construction/repair activities.
• Rig lifted materials and bridge components safely.
• Coordinate traffic control devices for work zones per SCDOT manual.
• Assist in emergency or inclement weather operations.
• Operate salt brine anti-icing equipment and snow plow/sand spreader for snow removal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
