The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking an on-site Highway Maintenance Worker to perform a broad range of road and bridge maintenance tasks. You will operate motorized equipment, patch roadway surfaces, manage vegetation, and assist with sign installations and concrete work on a state highway network.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, routine PMs on equipment, and coordinating traffic control in work zones.

Qualifications

• One year of related work experience required.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL within six months.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and repair roads and bridges per state standards.
• Operate heavy equipment including dump trucks, graders, and excavators.
• Perform safety inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Assist with traffic control and setup of maintenance work zones.
• Perform vegetation management and sign installation/repairs.
• Respond to emergencies and on-call rotations.
