Job summary

HICO America, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an GIS Installation Service Manager to oversee GIS project installations across North America. The role acts as the primary onsite technical representative, coordinating installation activities, commissioning support, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate will have experience with high-voltage equipment, be able to read AC/DC schematics, and travel extensively to customer sites.

Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret AC and DC schematic drawings.
Experience wiring, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
Experience using cranes and forklifts.
Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Mechanically inclined with hand tools.
Basic computer skills (MS Office).
HVAC knowledge beneficial.
2-year associate or specialized degree in Electronics/Electrical or Electrical/Mechanical Technology or 3 years related substation/switchgear experience.
Ability to travel by plane and drive across the United States.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary onsite technical representative for GIS projects.
Monitor installation progress and ensure compliance with specifications and procedures.
Identify and resolve technical, logistical, and installation issues.
Conduct site inspections and provide progress reports to project teams.
Support commissioning activities with engineering and service teams.
Build and maintain relations with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
Lead and coordinate field activities across multiple stakeholders.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and installation documents.
