Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) seeks an experienced electrical power technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot and collect data on low to high voltage systems (up to 500kV). You will perform relay calibration, power metering work and various transformer tests, with travel required.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years of related experience, and ideally a NETA certification (III/IV).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Electrical Power or military training preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• NETA Certification (III/IV) highly preferred or equivalent skills to become NETA Certified.
• OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low, medium and high voltage electrical systems up to 500kV.
• Test instrument transformers and relays; perform power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance).
• Test cables with Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot; troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
• Travel locally and overnight; work flexible hours including overtime and weekends; be on call.
• Maintain safety procedures and contribute to a strong team environment.
