Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a skilled electrical field technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and data-collect for high- and medium-voltage systems up to 500 kV. You will perform transformer and relay testing, switchgear and circuit breaker checks, and support automatic transfer switch diagnostics across site environments.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, NETA certification, OSHA/related trainings, and willingness to travel locally/overnight while staying

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power, or similar experience/training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee) preferred.
• Must have at least 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• NETA Certification II or higher preferred or equivalent skills/experience to become NETA Certified.
• OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot HV/LV electrical systems up to 500kV; collect data and startup.
• Instrument transformer tests.
• Power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance).
• Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Cable testing - Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot.
• Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
• Low/Medium/High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
• Travel locally and overnight; be on call as required.
• Maintain strong safety practices and teamwork.
