Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to provide on-site automation support at a Glendale, AZ facility on a 2-2-3 12-hour day rotation. You will write and modify ladder logic, troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs, and mentor maintenance staff while collaborating with operations to improve throughput.

You will lead automation projects, maintain documentation, and support upgrades and system integration in a high-speed beverage/packaging environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC programming on running production lines.
• 4+ years in industrial automation on high-speed lines.
• Strong PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Effective cross-team communication across operations, maintenance, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for automated processing, filling, canning, conveying, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, motion-control, and industrial-network issues and restore production safely.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
