Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to provide on-site automation support for high-speed beverage production at our Glendale, AZ facility. The role focuses on on-shift PLC/HMI troubleshooting, programming, and improvements that enhance reliability and throughput.

You will mentor maintenance technicians, collaborate with operations and quality teams, and execute automation-focused projects on 12-hour night shifts in a tightly coordinated plant environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years industrial automation on high-speed production lines.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for packaging equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and industrial-network issues and restore production.
• Identify recurring problems and implement permanent corrective actions, including PLC/HMI changes.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, and system integration projects.
