Job summary

Austin Public School District is seeking a Security Paraprofessional at Austin High School to support safety and orderly conduct in the high school environment. The role requires a post-secondary credential or passing paraprofessional assessment, with a focus on monitoring, supervision, and collaboration with staff.

The paraprofessional will assist administrators and teachers, work with diverse students to promote learning, and operate related equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have an AA Degree, AS Degree or 60 semester credits of post-secondary education (equivalent of 2 years) or a passing score on the paraprofessional assessment test.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hallways, entrances and other locations to keep the high school safe and orderly.
• Assist administrators, teachers and staff to ensure proper behavior and safety of students.
• Work with various students to ensure learning is maximized.
• Provide supervision.
• Operate and maintain equipment related to job assignment.
