Job summary

FirstService Residential seeks a General Manager to lead community operations in New Jersey. You will serve as the primary liaison between the Board and homeowners, ensuring compliance, budgeting, and daily management of staff and facilities.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, budget development, staff oversight, and coordination with external partners to deliver exceptional services while upholding governing documents and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field and 3 years’ experience in Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction.
• 7+ years of community management experience, with 4+ years supervising staff.
• Management experience in a small/medium organization with multiple departments.
• Understanding of physical building management, Condominium law, financial planning and related laws.
• Valid Driver’s License and State mandated vehicle insurance.
• Commitment to obtain CPM, PCAM, ARM or AMS designations or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to develop short- and long-term plans; lead annual goal setting.
• Review organization structure, job descriptions, and functions; advise Board on changes.
• Partner with organizations to provide community services when necessary.
• Support Board sub-committees and manage staff in accordance with the management plan.
• Create and manage the annual budget, subject to Board approval.
• Monitor and report the monthly financial position of the association.
• Recruit, hire, train and supervise all community staff.
• Ensure adherence to civil codes, declarations and governing documents.
