Job summary

Benihana - Burlingame is seeking an energetic chef to deliver an unforgettable hibachi dining experience. You’ll entertain and engage guests while cooking hot meals right at the hibachi tables and ensuring portions meet company standards.

The role requires completing Benihana’s chef training program, prior kitchen experience is desirable, and the team offers a supportive, growth-oriented environment with strong benefits and dining discounts.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order(s).
• Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous.
• Reads guests information about Benihana foods during cooking or upon inquiries.
• Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests.
• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables for cooking using kitchen equipment.
• Maintains kitchen and teppan cooking areas clean and sanitized.
• Adheres to company guidelines on portioning, cooking methods, recipes and presentation.
• Presents a clean and neat appearance and uses a courteous manner with all guests.
