Job summary

Benihana - Salt Lake City is seeking a restaurant cook to engage guests, entertain with hibachi cooking, and deliver a memorable dining experience. You will prepare meats and vegetables, maintain cleanliness, and ensure portions meet company standards while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order(s).
• Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interactions are courteous.
• Reads guest inquiries and provides information about Benihana foods as they are cooked.
• Responds promptly to guest requests and follows instructions.
• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables for cooking using kitchen equipment.
• Performs shift opening/closing duties including cleaning and storage.
• Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and teppan areas and reports maintenance issues.
• Adheres to portion standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines.
• Follows FIFO food handling and safety regulations.
• Presents a clean, courteous appearance and interacts professionally with guests.
