Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States seeks an RN charge nurse to lead the dialysis team, directing daily patient care and supervising direct staff. Qualifications

• Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience and an additional 3 months of dialysis experience; supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Must have one-year clinical experience and six months dialysis experience; training in hemodialysis theory and practice required.
• Good communication skills - both verbal and written; must meet state requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to direct patient care staff; participate in staffing and hiring decisions.
• Ensure compliance with facility procedures, company policies, and state/federal regulations; coordinate shift changes as needed.
• Supervise documentation of patient information and coordinate charge nurse duties with RNs.
• Educate patients and families about End Stage Renal Disease and dialysis therapy; oversee care plans and emergency responses.
