Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional to deliver patient-centered care in Hematology/Oncology, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and staff to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients within scope of practice. The APP participates in education of residents and students, and plays a key role in discharge planning and follow-up in infusion and ambulatory settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National APRN certification required.
• Licensure or eligibility for RN/APRN in West Virginia.
• BLS certification with ALS training as required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as PA and ARC-PA accreditation.
• PANCE certification required for PA track.
• WV Board licensure eligibility for PA or APRN.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care in infusion and ambulatory settings.
• Performs rounds, pre/post-procedure evaluations, and orders tests as appropriate.
• Develops care plans and coordinates discharge planning and follow-up.
• Provides education to residents, nursing staff, and patients.
• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize outcomes.
