MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM, seeks a Medical Technologist Lead - Hematology to coordinate lab operations, ensure testing quality, and maintain regulatory compliance. The role oversees QC, proficiency testing, equipment maintenance, and staff competency while serving as a technical resource for the department.

The ideal candidate will have a MLS/MT certification, 2–4 years in clinical lab testing, and 0–2 years in leadership or training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical laboratory setting.
• 0-2 years leadership, training, or quality management experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs, verifies, and reports moderate and high-complexity tests following CLIA, CAP, and regulatory standards.
• Oversees daily lab operations: workflow, inventory, and staffing coordination.
• Monitors quality control measures and ensures timely proficiency testing reporting.
• Conducts staff competency assessments, training, and performance evaluations.
• Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment, escalating issues as needed.
• Ensures safety protocols, PPE usage, infection control, and lab safety plan compliance.
• Communicates instrument issues and regulatory updates between staff and administration.
• Supports accreditation readiness activities and data/documentation for inspections.
• Maintains LIS and EMR data entry and reporting.
• Assists with phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.
