Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Technical Coordinator, Hematology to lead the Hematology unit within the Laboratory. You will oversee result reporting, quality control/assurance, and ensure accreditation standards are met, guiding technicians and coordinating audits.

Responsibilities include maintaining competency across Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis, evaluating new technologies, training staff, and collaborating with LIS, QA, and Education teams to support patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science required
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science preferred
• ASCP or equivalent board certification required
• 5 years of clinical laboratory experience with a focus in Hematology required
• 2 years of experience as Hematology Supervisor preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Responsibilities

• Oversee Hematology unit operations including result reporting and QA/QA compliance
• Maintain competency in Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis; ensure staff competency
• Evaluate and implement new technologies with cross-functional teams
• Perform and oversee training for new hires and ensure training completion
• Oversee equipment maintenance and documentation
• Manage QC/QA programs and vendor applications/Middleware
• Provide LIS/QA/Education support and data reporting
• Assist in personnel scheduling and performance evaluations
• Participate in meetings and report generation
