Duke Health is seeking an on-site Patient Access Specialist within the Patient Revenue Management Organization to accurately complete patient accounts, obtain prior authorizations, and assist patients with financial options. You will manage registrations, billing, and disclosures while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Ideal candidates bring 2 years of hospital/service access or billing experience and strong communication skills.

Competenze

• Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally required through a high school education, with some postsecondary education preferred.
• Two years' experience working in hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections.
• Associates or Bachelors degree options are acceptable for experience substitution.

Mansioni

• Accurately complete patient accounts based on departmental protocol and regulatory compliance.
• Explain bills and inform patients of financial liability prior to arrival for services.
• Obtain authorizations and facilitate payment options for patients.
• Resolve insurance claim rejections/denials and collect payments.
• Update billing system with patient insurance status and refer to financial counseling as needed.
