Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Office seeks a Financial Care Counselor to support patient accounts, insurance coordination, and financial counseling. You will help patients understand their financial responsibilities before services and guide them through payment options, ensuring compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow established policies and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Accurately complete patient accounts per department protocol and regulatory requirements.
• Inform patients of financial liability and arrange payment options.
• Obtain authorizations and documentation for billing based on insurance plans.
• Explain bills and provide assistance to patients and visitors.
• Resolve insurance claim rejections/denials and ensure accounts are processed accurately.
• Maintain and update the billing system with insurance status and relevant data.
