Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is offering a Heavy Equipment Service Technician Intern position to learn diagnostics and repair of heavy equipment by working alongside experienced technicians.

The internship lasts 12 to 24 months, with hands-on training and exposure to the distributor environment, based in multiple branches across Oklahoma and Texas. The program provides tuition reimbursement options, certificate and associate programs, and a paid shop role at $17 per hour, with potential ownership

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or current student.
• Strong interest in repairing heavy equipment or related mechanical fields.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians with diagnostics in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Learn to interpret schematics, service manuals, and inspection reports.
• Order parts, complete service documents, and perform repair processes under guidance.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and attend training sessions.
