Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. seeks a Heavy Equipment Service Technician Intern to learn diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment alongside experienced technicians.

The program runs 12 to 24 months and offers hands-on training, safety-focused environment, and exposure to distributor operations across Texas and Oklahoma. The internship includes shop work at $17 per hour, with opportunities for certificate and associate programs, tuition reimbursement after graduation, and a two-year ownership

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or current student.
• Interest in repairing heavy equipment or related mechanical fields.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair heavy equipment alongside experienced technicians.
• Assist with diagnostics in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Interpret service manuals, schematics, and inspection reports.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and proper PPE.
• Attend training sessions, toolbox talks, and team meetings.
