Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Service Technician Intern to learn diagnostics and repair of heavy equipment alongside experienced technicians.

The internship lasts 12 to 24 months, with hands-on training and exposure to the distributor environment across Oklahoma and Texas. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or currently enrolled as a student
• Strong interest in repairing heavy equipment, machinery, or related mechanical fields
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Valid driver's license preferred

Responsibilities

• Practices and promotes safe work habits, following company policies and safety regulations
• Assists experienced technicians with diagnostics in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, repairs, and maintenance of heavy equipment
• Continuously learns to interpret technical documents, such as schematics, service manuals, and inspection reports
• Observes experienced technicians to learn how to properly order parts, complete service documents, and perform repair processes
• Completes assigned tasks accurately and efficiently while demonstrating a willingness to learn
• Maintains a clean and organized work area, including shop tools and equipment
• Attends training sessions, toolbox talks, and team meetings
• Consistent and reliable on-site attendance
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
