Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. offers a Heavy Equipment Service Technician Intern position across Oklahoma and Texas.

You will work with experienced technicians to learn diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of heavy equipment while gaining hands-on training and exposure to our distributor environment. The internship runs 12 to 24 months, with pay of $17 per hour in the shop, access to certificate and associate programs, and tuition reimbursement based on GPA after graduation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or currently enrolled as a student.
• Strong interest in repairing heavy equipment, machinery, or related mechanical fields
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Valid driver's license preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists experienced technicians with diagnostics and maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Learn to interpret schematics, service manuals, and inspection reports.
• Orders parts and completes service documents under supervision.
• Maintains organized work area and participates in trainings and team meetings.
• Maintains consistent on-site attendance and safe work habits.
