Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. is seeking a Rental Shop Technician to diagnose and repair a wide range of rental equipment and tools.

You will inspect diesel engines, tune up engines, diagnose controls and electrical components using diagnostic tools, and perform welding as needed. Ideal candidates have a strong mechanical aptitude, safety mindset, and the ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members. Qualifications

• Knowledge of complex hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and follow manuals and instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical information and documents.
• Ability to communicate via email and write service reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment diesel engines and components.
• Repair and/or replace components of frame assemblies, drive trains, electrical systems and control modules.
• Determine extent of repairs and prepare service orders.
• Tune up engines and diagnose computer controls and air conditioning components using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform welding and brazing, fabricate and modify parts and attachments.
• Complete all documentation in a legible, accurate and timely manner.
• Adhere to time, quality standards and safety procedures.
