Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co is seeking a Rental Field Service Technician - Mechanic to troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on customer and company rental equipment in the field.

Technicians must furnish their own tools, operate heavy equipment, and complete all work accurately and on time. Ideal candidates have strong mechanical aptitude, 5+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Must be 21+ years old or older.
• Valid, active driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to clear driver screenings and provide necessary information for a complete DQ file, including DOT requirements.
• Must not be disqualified to drive a CMV under 49 CFR § 391.15.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment.
• Source and order parts as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment effectively.
• Repair components of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and related equipment.
• Perform welding and brazing, fabrication of parts and attachments.
• Complete work orders and time sheets accurately and timely.
• Operate equipment with required licenses and safety procedures.
• Maintain vehicle inspection records and daily logs as required by DOT.
• Keep equipment clean and presentable for public impression.
• Obtain a CDL license if required.
