Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co is seeking a Rental Shop Technician to diagnose and repair a broad range of rental equipment, diesel engines and hydraulic systems. You will support safety, workflow, and reporting by technicians while maintaining quality and timely documentation.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret manuals and schematics, and teamwork to deliver superior customer service. Includes comprehensive benefits and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics and procedures.
• Operate equipment safely and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with basic computer applications, email and internet.
• Ability to write service reports clearly and concisely.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Follows safety guidelines and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment and diesel engines.
• Repair or replace components of frames, suspensions, drive trains, electrical systems and operator comfort systems.
• Determine extent of repairs and prepare service orders for needed work.
• Tune up engines and diagnose controls and A/C components using diagnostic tools.
• Perform welding and fabricate parts and attachments as required.
• Complete all work orders, parts orders, inspections, warranties and time sheets accurately.
• Adhere to safety procedures and quality standards in all tasks.
• Participate in safety program and perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
