Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely run multiple large machines and support solid waste operations. You will perform inspections, conduct routine maintenance, and work on site to move and load materials while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires at least 3 years of heavy equipment experience, passing required certifications, and the ability to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, or similar.
• Must pass written and operational tests to certify operation of each equipment piece.
• Hazardous waste handling training within six months of employment (for Boyd site).

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely including bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document results.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, fueling, cleaning.
• Move waste, prepare site, perform earth moving and related tasks.
• Monitor equipment for proper operation and minimize downtime.
• Interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Assist with on-site roll-off operations and trailer movement.
• Comply with local, state, federal regulations and company policies.
