Job summary

Rumpke of Ohio, Inc. is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator for a night shift (3:30pm - 5:30am, M-F) in Columbus, OH. You will operate bulldozers, loaders, excavators and other heavy machines, perform inspections and routine maintenance, and interact with customers while following safety protocols.

Responsibilities include site preparation, earth moving, snow removal, waste handling, and occasional roll-off work. Overtime and night/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient on heavy equipment and able to operate diverse machines.
• Must complete required training on landfill equipment as needed.
• Reliable, self-starter with strong communication and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform efficient safe operation of heavy equipment as required and in compliance with all regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and document results.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, fueling and cleaning.
• Operate equipment for site prep, earth moving, snow removal and related tasks.
• Monitor equipment, communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Handle waste materials safely and assist with on-site roll off work as needed.
• Move and stage trailers with yard tractors; follow safety procedures.
