Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, and loaders on MSW and recycling sites. You will perform pre-trip inspections, routine maintenance, and coordinate with yard staff to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities include operating various heavy equipment, maintaining safety, and providing professional service to customers while complying with regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment such as an excavator, backhoe, dozer, and off-road truck or similar experience preferred.
• Must pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate each piece of heavy equipment.
• Must successfully complete hazardous waste management training within six months of employment or assignment, with an annual review.

Responsibilities

• Perform efficient safe operation of heavy equipment including bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders and other equipment as required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete necessary documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning of equipment.
• Operate equipment for site preparation, earth moving, landscaping, snow removal, and related tasks.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers and maintain safety standards.
