Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Dayton, OH to safely operate bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and more to support MSW and recycling operations.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, routine maintenance, and coordinate with site personnel while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires flexibility for night and weekend shifts and a strong commitment to safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment.
• Must pass written and operational test to certify equipment.
• Must read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand questions, directions, and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks) safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, fueling, cleaning) and basic site preparation.
• Move waste and/or recyclables, assist with earth moving and grading tasks.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers and maintain equipment cleanliness.
