Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers and other equipment at our recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations.

You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections and ensure all safety standards are followed. Responsibilities include monitoring waste quality, reporting repairs, and maintaining equipment readiness to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Two years’ prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with honesty and trustworthiness.
• Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
• Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules; promotes safety standards; avoids unnecessary risk.
• Maintains a sense of pride in work and strives to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Keep equipment and tracks clean; minimize downtime.
• Perform and document minor preventive maintenance.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and ensure shop is clean and organized after shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
