Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at recycling facilities, landfills, or transfer stations. Duties include pre/post inspections, safe operation of forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders, and monitoring waste for unacceptable materials.

Responsibilities extend to minor servicing, reporting repairs, completing required documentation, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure windows, lights, mirrors and rear view camera are clean.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader following safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and report any issues to supervision.
• Keep equipment in good working order and clean tracks or wheels as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance and document Equipment Condition Reports.
• Complete reports and follow safety policies; ensure shop is clean and secured after shift.
