Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations, performing loading, spreading and compacting of waste or soil.

You will conduct pre- and post-operation inspections and maintain equipment readiness to minimize downtime. The role emphasizes strict safety, reliability and adherence to company policies while collaborating with a team of experienced operators.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure readiness and safety.
• Operate equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader) safely and efficiently.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor maintenance and document service; refer major issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all safety policies and keep shop clean and organized after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
