Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations. The role includes pre- and post-operation inspections, efficient operation of equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer and loader, and documentation of equipment conditions.

You will monitor for unacceptable waste and ensure safety policies are followed.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer and front-end loader.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment and refer complex repairs to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Report and report repairs to supervisor as needed.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Keep the shop clean, serviced and stored at end of shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
