Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate heavy equipment for removing branches and tree material from electrical lines. The role emphasizes safety, daily equipment setup, and supporting the Foreperson with operation and maintenance tasks.

Ideal candidates have prior heavy equipment experience in related fields and possess a High School diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license with CDL and DOT Medical Card is required for trucks over 26,000 lbs, with potential storm

Qualifications

• Prior heavy equipment operating experience in electric utility vegetation management or related industries preferred
• High School diploma or education equivalent preferred
• Must possess physical strength and balance to climb into mobile equipment
• Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations
• Assist other crew members and take a leadership role when required
• Cleans up and disposes of debris and sets up barriers and signs
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson
• Perform duties for storm work as needed
