Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Blythewood, SC is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. You will follow safety rules and assist Foreperson in daily tasks.

This full-time position requires physical strength, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and the ability to obtain/maintain CDL and DOT medical card. Experience in utility vegetation management preferred; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment in utility vegetation management or related fields.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions.
• Must possess physical strength and balance to climb into and around mobile equipment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL and DOT medical card may be required for certain positions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules.
• Prepare equipment and materials for daily work as directed by Foreperson.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Assist crew with daily activities and provide leadership when required.
• Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Clean up and dispose of debris and set up barriers as needed.
• Report mileage and conditions to Foreperson.
• Perform storm-related duties as needed.
