Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking an Equipment Operator to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines using heavy equipment. You will follow safety rules and assist in daily preparation and operation under Foreperson supervision.

The role requires physical fitness, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, a valid driver’s license with CDL/DOT where required, and willingness to travel for storm restoration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior heavy equipment operating experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Must be able to operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Must be able to travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work.
• Follow safety practices and enforce rules.
• Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Lead team members when required and support Foreperson as needed.
• Set up barriers, warning signs, and equipment safety features.
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
