Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services is seeking a Mulcher Equipment Operator in the United States. The role requires operating heavy machinery (mulcher, skid steer, Geo Boy/Barko), and maintaining safety and readiness for storm restoration duties.

Preferred candidates have prior heavy equipment experience in vegetation management or related fields, plus a high school diploma or equivalent. This is a full-time field role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have daily maintenance knowledge and safe operation of equipment.
• Must possess physical strength and balance for access to mobile equipment.
• Ability to enter/exit vehicle multiple times daily.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to hear instructions from distance.
• Must obtain first-aid and CPR certification.
• Must wear PPE.
• Good vision and attentiveness.
• Must hold/maintain Driver’s License; CDL & DOT Medical Card for trucks >26k lbs.
• Able to read/write and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules.
• Prepare equipment/materials as directed by Foreperson.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Assist in equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Assist crew and lead when required.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Set up barriers, signs, and flags to protect crew and public.
• Stay informed on equipment specs and procedures.
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson.
• Perform storm-work duties as needed.

Education

High School diploma or education equivalent preferred
