Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate diverse equipment for MSW and recyclable material handling, including earth moving tasks. You will perform inspections, routine maintenance, and traffic-safe operations while engaging with customers and team members on site.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of equipment experience, successful certification tests, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment such as excavator, backhoe, dozer, or off-road truck.
• Must pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate each piece of heavy equipment.
• Hazardous waste management training within six months of employment or assignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform efficient safe operation of heavy equipment (bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders, trucks) in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Perform routine maintenance (lubricating, fueling, cleaning) and assist with site prep and earth moving.
