Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at a recycling facility, landfill or transfer station. The role involves transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil efficiently while adhering to safety standards.

The incumbent will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor equipment and waste, complete reports, and coordinate with maintenance for repairs.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Monitor equipment condition to minimize downtime and clean tracks/wheels.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment; refer major issues to maintenance.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Keep shop clean, serviced and organized after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
