Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a field operator to safely operate excavators, front loaders, bulldozers and other heavy equipment to bale, load, and move waste material on site.

The role requires routine maintenance, adherence to regulations, and teamwork with field crews. You will stand safety inspections, communicate via radio, and help keep grounds and facilities in good condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired, but not required.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste or other material into trailers.
• Perform inspection and maintenance checks of equipment daily.
• Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids daily.
• Steer and drive assigned equipment at the site using controls.
• Substitute for another operator if someone is absent.
• Clean trash from tracks and gear daily or as needed.
• Use a two-way radio to communicate with co-workers.
• Conform to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain appearance of grounds and facility.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
