Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking an Equipment Operator in the United States to operate and maintain site equipment, bale and load waste, and support daily operations.

You will perform inspections, grease and monitor fluids, and follow safety procedures. A high school diploma is preferred; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and read/write English; willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, speak and write English.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow complex instructions.
• Basic math and reading of equipment gauges.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste into trailers.
• Perform inspection and maintenance checks daily.
• Grease and lubricate equipment; monitor fluids.
• Steer, guide and operate equipment as required at the site.
• Substitute for another operator when needed.
• Clean debris from tracks and gear mechanisms daily.
• Use a two-way radio to coordinate with team.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Maintain the appearance of grounds and facility.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
