Job summary

GFL Environmental in Wisconsin is seeking a heavy equipment operator to bale and load waste materials on-site. You will inspect and maintain equipment daily, grease, check fluids, and operate excavators, loaders, bulldozers as required.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather. The position offers competitive pay at $25–$30 per hour, with benefits including PTO, health plans, a 401(k) match, life and disability coverages, and parental leave.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift certification completed.
• Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification possible if required.
• Must be able to read and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste or material into trailers.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease and lubricate equipment; monitor fluids daily.
• Travel between sites and operate listed equipment as needed.
• Substitutes for other operators when required.
• Keep tracks clean by removing debris and clearing gear.
• Use two-way radio to communicate with team about work activities.
