Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a heavy equipment operator at our Wisconsin location. You will safely bale, load and move waste material using excavators, loaders, bulldozers, or similar gear, with daily inspections and safety checks as part of the role.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and forklift certification; ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Certification if needed. Competitive benefits and PTO are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale, load waste or other material into trailers.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance checks.
• Grease and lubricate machinery; monitor fluids daily.
• Steer and drive listed equipment at the site using controls.
• Substitute for crew members as needed.
• Keep tracks and gear free of trash and debris daily.
• Communicate via two-way radio about work activities and priorities.
• Comply with laws, policies and supervisor directives.
• Maintain grounds and facility appearance.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
