Job summary

Staker Parson Companies, a CRH company, seeks a skilled Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a broad fleet of construction and support equipment. You will work on trucks, dozers, excavators, graders, and engines, ensuring reliability for daily operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and accurate record-keeping. Candidates should have a HS diploma/GED and strong teamwork, safety, and math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferably 5 years of experience working as an automotive mechanic on construction equipment such as dozers, excavators, graders, and trucks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues and perform durable, cost-effective repairs across a wide variety of equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and gasoline systems, including engines, transmissions, and drive trains.
• Dismantle equipment to access and repair defective parts using hoists, hand tools, and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, filter changes, and scheduled inspections.
• Maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, on-site shop tools, and non-mobile equipment across the company.
• Order and track parts, manage purchase orders and invoices, and keep accurate repair records.
• Use computer systems to support diagnostics, work orders, and parts management.
• Adjust functional components, install new structural parts, and weld broken components when needed.
• Test and inspect equipment to verify proper operation before returning it to the field.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow safety policies.
